Use this module only when your job requires a midspan clearance and names Standard. What you see comes from the configuration your company set, so names may differ.
This is not high accuracy. For the stick method, see Measure a midspan (High Accuracy).
This article measures a midspan point that already exists on the map. To add one, see Place a pole or span on the map.
Which method to use
Your job names the method. Do not guess at the span.
Tap Measure Midspan to start in the last midspan mode you used on this configuration. A configuration with no saved choice starts in High accuracy.
To pick Standard, long-press Measure Midspan, or use the chevron beside it. The app remembers pole mode and midspan mode separately. A Standard leftover on midspan stays Standard until you change it.
When Standard is the right call
Use Standard when you cannot set the stick at the drop point. A busy road is the usual case.
Do not have someone hold the high-accuracy stick as a stand-in. Movement ruins tilt.
Mark the drop point
Put a disc or other visible ground mark at the drop point, under the wire you need. That mark is the place the AR dot should hit. The mark is on the ground. It is not a button in the app.
Capture
Stand about 15 feet from the mark, in a safe spot.
Place the AR dot on the mark, or on the drop point if that is what your capture offers.
Walk to a safe place. Take the photo from there.
Check the height before you leave. Cars through the virtual line can spoil the shot. Recapture if traffic crossed it.
If your capture shows a different name for that target, use the one on screen.
