For measurement crews, one part of this screen is first-of-day: Pole measurement settings, covered below. The rest of this article is reference material.

Use only the setting named by the field runbook, your job, or your supervisor. The two references below cover the settings that connect directly to this guide.

Seeing something here does not mean your organization uses it. The list is the same for everyone, so you will see settings for equipment and features your company has not set up.

If a setting looks like it should do something and nothing happens, that is the likely reason, and it is not a fault.

Pole measurement settings is first-of-day for measurement crews, not something to check only when a measurement looks wrong. Open it from the Person Icon (top-right), then look under the Component Settings heading, before your first measurement of the day: pick the target version on your stick, zero the tilt if you use Standard mode, and set Bottom Pole Length to match how you assembled the stick. Getting any of these wrong gives you wrong measurements with no warning. See Set up your accuracy stick for exactly how to check each one.

Your own activity, under performance, shows your measurements and daily activity. Useful for checking your own day.

Appearance lets you choose light, dark or matching your phone. Dark is easier at dawn and light is easier in bright sun.

Storage shows what the app holds on your phone: the database, files and map cache. Look here if your phone is short on space.

Behind the measurement settings there is an advanced section holding numbers the app uses to work out measurements.

Changing a value here can change measurement behavior, and nothing warns you as you make the edit. There is no per-field error message. There is a red "Reset to Defaults" button at the bottom of the screen, and it resets more than what's on this screen: it also puts your Accuracy Stick version and Bottom Pole Length back to Cloneable's defaults (Version 2, and Bottom Pole Length 1), even though you set those on a different screen. It has no confirmation of its own. If you ever tap it, re-check your stick version and Bottom Pole Length before your next measurement, since either one being wrong gives you wrong numbers with no warning.

If somebody has told you to change something in there, fine. If you explore, back out. And if your measurements have gone strange recently and you have been in there, say so when you report it, because it is the first thing worth checking and nobody minds.

The privacy section states your organization's own location policy, and the wording changes with it. Some organizations share your location only while UtilityScout is open. Others also share it in the background during work-hours windows, which the app then lists. Others share nothing at all.

Read the notice in your own app rather than assuming, because the decision is your organization's.
