Reading the map without tapping anything
The map shows you the state of every object visually. Two of the things it does are the same for everyone. One of them depends on your company. Here is everything you see before you tap anything:
Syncing, top left. Shows whether your captured work has reached Cloneable's servers, and a switch to pause or resume sending it. See Check that your work is syncing.
Job, below Syncing. The job you are currently in. Tap it to switch jobs. See Sign in and pick a job.
Help (the "?"), top right. Opens tutorial videos and a Chat button to reach support. See When something goes wrong out in the field.
Account, top right. Your profile and app settings. See Your app settings.
Blue arrow, on the right. Centers the map on you.
Map controls menu, under the blue arrow. Use it for Center on locations, Orient North, and Show Location.
Layers, the stacked-squares icon. Opens Map Layers, for turning object types on or off. See "Showing and hiding layers," below.
Map Options, the folded-map icon. Switches between Standard and Satellite, and is where you download this job's basemap for offline use. See Work where there is no signal.
Add Pole, with a chevron. That chevron is not about how many kinds of objects your organization places, it offers a choice of how to place this one: tap where you want it on the map, or drop it at your current GPS location. See Place a pole or span on the map.
Poles / Spans counters, next to Add Pole. See "The counters, and why they look wrong," below.
Center on locations
The menu under the blue arrow includes Center on locations.
Tap it to zoom the map to everything already loaded on this job. Use it when you cannot find the poles.
Note: This is the phone map. It is not the web organization map. On the web, picking a job moves the map to that job. See Your organization map.
What's fixed, and what your company sets up
Two things are the same on every organization's map: the object you have selected is highlighted, and a connection you are drawing is not real until you confirm it. Judge whether something saved by checking it is still there after you move away, not by how the line looks, since dashes and colors are something your organization can choose for its own line types.

The counters, and why they look wrong
You will see a pair of counters reading something like zero of seven.
The number on the right is how many objects are in the job. The number on the left is how many your crew has measured, not how many you have created.
So after a morning of placing poles, or when a job has been imported, it can still read zero of seven. Nothing has gone wrong and nothing is unsaved. It is telling you there are seven of them here and none are measured yet.
This is easy to misread. If you place seven poles and the counter says zero, that can be correct because the counter measures a different event.
Cloneable labels the first counter Poles for everyone, even if your company calls its objects something else. Do not read anything into the mismatch. The app is not consistent about this: the action for adding an object does use your organization's word, while some of the actions on a selected pole or span are fixed to Pole and Span.
The second counter reads Spans on newer versions of the app, and Midspans on older ones. Either way, it does not count the spans you draw. It counts the midspan points recorded along them, which your company may call something else. So drawing a span between two poles does not move it, and if your company does not use midspans at all it will sit at zero of zero permanently. Neither means anything is missing.
Use the Poles counter as your working check, and go by what is on the map for spans.
Showing and hiding layers
A button on the map opens Map Layers, for turning individual object types on or off so a busy map can be simplified to just what you need right now.
A Show all layers toggle at the top turns everything on or off at once. When some but not all layers are hidden, it reads Mixed — some layers hidden instead of a plain on/off state.
Below that, layers are grouped the same way your company's configuration is grouped: Built-in (Poles, Spans, Guys, Measurements, using your organization's own names for them), then Custom Points, Custom Lines, and Polylines for whatever custom object types your configuration defines. Each row shows how many of that object are on the map right now, and a row with nothing on it reads No items instead of a toggle you can use.
If your configuration uses polylines, a Snap to polylines toggle appears below the layer list. It magnetizes new and moved poles or custom points to nearby polyline endpoints and paths.
A separate Labels section lets you label each span and connecting line with its measured length, the angle between connected spans, or the net pull direction at corner poles, whenever your configuration has spans or two-pole custom lines.
Selecting an object
Tap an object and it gets a glow ring, and a row of actions appears for it. See Selecting a map object for everything you can do from there, including filling in details, photos, deleting, and Edit HOA.
