Selecting a map object

What's available once you've selected a pole, span, or object on the map: details, photos, deleting, and Edit HOA.

Written by Ryan Miller

Tap an object on the map and it gets a glow ring, and a row of actions appears for it. That row scrolls sideways, so if what you want is not there, drag it across rather than assuming the action does not exist. What actions you see depends on the object type and your organization's configuration.

Filling in details

Every object has fields your organization decides on: status, tags, measurements, and anything else your configuration tracks. See Fill in a pole or span's details for the full walkthrough.

Photos

Most objects have photo slots your organization defines, and a review step before you keep what you shot. See Take photos, and review them for the full walkthrough.

Deleting something, and Edit HOA

Deleting an object archives it, it does not destroy it. A Delete action on a pole, span, measurement, or custom object disappears from your map immediately, but the record itself is archived on Cloneable's servers rather than thrown away. If you delete something by mistake, tell your supervisor. Someone with access to that specific object in the Cloneable web portal can restore it from there, the same as any other archived object.

Deleting is not the same everywhere. Some objects ask you to confirm first, especially when other objects depend on them; others do not ask before acting. Treat every Delete action as final in the moment, whether or not it asks first.

Edit HOA reopens the measurement you already captured for that pole, span, or point so you can adjust attachment heights or other captured fields, rather than starting a new measurement from scratch. Whether you see it depends on your organization's configuration.
