The extension is the bridge between Katapult and Cloneable. It reads a model out of Katapult and hands it to Cloneable, and it adds a few helpers to the Katapult map along the way. Whoever exports models from Katapult needs it installed, usually the same person who administers your Cloneable organization.
Adding it
Add the extension to Chrome, then look for Katapult to Cloneable Exporter among your extensions. That is the name Chrome lists it under. The window it opens is titled Cloneable for Katapult, so expect to see both names. Ask us for the link if you do not have it.
Chrome only. Cloneable built the extension for Chrome, so use Google Chrome for everything in this section.
There is nothing to sign in to
Worth knowing before you go looking for a login, because there is not one. The extension has no account and no password of its own. It does its work in two places: your Katapult pages, where it reads the model, and Cloneable's own import page, where it hands the model across. Whatever you can see in Katapult is what it can read.
That is the extension only. You still must sign in to Cloneable in the browser before you export the model. If you have never signed in, Export Full Model fails. Sign in, then export again from the Model Editor. See Send your Katapult model to Cloneable.
That also means it inherits your Katapult access. If you cannot open a model yourself, the extension cannot either.
Checking it is connected
Open the extension and it tells you what it connects to. There are a few things it can say:
Connected, along with the Katapult address it is connected to. This is what you want, and the export controls become available. It also shows you where the current job's photos stand, so you can see at a glance whether any still need starring.

Inactive, along with an address. The extension is not set up for the address you are on. Either it is not a Katapult page, or your team reaches Katapult on its own address and nobody has added that address yet. This article covers adding it below.
No active tab, if there is no page for it to look at.
Reconnecting, if it can see a Katapult page but has not connected to it yet. It will try to sort this out by refreshing the page, and then tells you the page was refreshed and to reopen it before exporting. That is normal after installing, because the extension cannot reach into pages that were already open when you added it.
If it says reconnecting or asks you to reopen, refresh the Katapult page and open the extension again. That resolves nearly all first-time confusion.
If your team uses its own Katapult address
Many teams reach Katapult on their own web address rather than katapultpro.com. The extension works on katapultpro.com and its subdomains out of the box, and those cannot be switched off.
For anything else, you add your address yourself. There is a control for adding the address of the page you are currently on, and it tells you what it will do:
It offers to add the address you are on, when that address is new.
It says already added, when the extension is set up for it.
It says no domain to add, when the page cannot be added. The most common reason is that the address is not secure, since only
httpsaddresses can be added.
So the way to do this is to open your own Katapult site first, then add it from there.
The four map helpers
The extension adds four helpers to Katapult, and all four arrive switched on. You can turn any of them off.

The last one is the one crews notice most, because it tells them at a glance how many photos still need starring rather than making them check each pole.
One of them behaves differently, and it looks like a bug. The auto-confirm helper does not take effect on a page that is already open. Turn it on or off and reload the Katapult page, or you will conclude it does nothing. The other three change the page you look at straight away, and two of them confirm they have applied.
If a helper does not seem to work
Check the extension says it is connected.
Reload the Katapult page. This is the fix for the auto-confirm helper specifically, and it is worth trying for any of them.
If you are on your own Katapult address, check you have added it.
