Your profile and signing in

Your name, contact details, and how signing in works without a password.

Written by Ryan Miller

Your own details are the one part of settings everybody can reach, whatever their role.

Your profile

Open your settings and you land on your profile. Cloneable describes it as how others will see you on the site, which is exactly what it is: your name is what appears against the work you do and in your organization's people list.

You can set:

  • Your name. Worth filling in, because until you do you appear to your colleagues as an unnamed entry in the roster.

  • Your email address.

  • Your phone number. Worth adding: whoever manages your organization can filter the roster for people missing one, so a blank here shows up as something to chase.

Save is unavailable until what you have typed is valid, and Cloneable flags problems as you type rather than when you submit. If the button will not respond, one of the fields needs attention.

Roles are not yours to change

Your roles do not appear on this page. Whoever administers your organization sets them, and what an administrator can hand out depends on the roles they hold themselves. See Roles, and what each one can do.

If you need different access, ask them for it.

Signing in, and why there is no password to change

Cloneable does not use a password to sign you in. You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email address.

So there is nothing to remember, nothing to rotate, and no password field to fill in. If you cannot get in, the problem is almost never a forgotten password. The usual causes are:

  • The code has not arrived yet, or has gone to spam. Give it a moment and check there.

  • You sign in to the wrong organization, if you work across more than one.

  • An administrator removed your access. Ask an administrator to check you are still active in the roster.

Still can't get in after checking the above? Contact us and we'll help you get back in.

If you asked for an email and nothing came

Try once, then wait, then refresh the page before trying again.

Cloneable limits sending on purpose, and the control stops responding after it has sent, whether or not the message reached you. Pressing it repeatedly will not help and will use up your attempts. Reloading the page is what makes it available again.

If a second attempt on a fresh page still produces nothing, the problem is that the message does not reach you, not that nobody sent it. Check spam and then tell us.
